SHELDON H. CHANDLER

Sheldon H. Chandler, is a multi-disciplinary architect with a solid track record behind him and a vision ahead. His wealth of experience on projects involving developers, major tenant groups and municipal authorities has given him unique perspective.

Sheldon is known for architecture that works both elegantly and hard. He builds teams that understand real clients needs in demanding times. The result is Chandler Associates Architecture Inc. (CAA), a highly responsive and creative architectural firm based in Vancouver with projects throughout Western Canada.

Having resigned from CAA in 2014 after helping CAA with its transition, Chandler is advising clients in project development with a focus on what he knows best — retail, multi-residential and mixed use from the earliest stages of concept development strategies and planning liaison with municipal authorities through project approval and implementation.

Served as a member of the Vancouver Urban Design Panel & Current Member of its Development Permit Board. Former Member and Chair of the Advisory Design Panels for City of Richmond and Corporation of Delta. While Living in Alberta served on the Municipal Planning Commission and Parking Authority for the City of Calgary, and the Development Appeal Board and Housing Authority for the City of Edmonton.

• Founder and former principal of major architectural firms in 1970, Chandler Kennedy Architectural Group and in 1992, Chandler Associates Architecture. The former also was a multidisciplinary practice, one of the largest firms in Canada with offices in Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton and Denver, Colorado. Chandler Associates, based in Vancouver was responsible for numerous notable buildings throughout Western Canada.

• Sheldon resigned as principal of CAA in order to concentrate on consulting to clients, devoting more time to priority needs of the architectural profession and community at large. 

• With extensive experience as a Principal leading consultant teams, Sheldon has been responsible for a wide range of development throughout Western Canada and interfacing with the Public and Planning and Approving Authorities on highly sensitive projects.
